NASSIM SOLEIMANPOUR
Without a director or a set, every night a different actor is called to read the text by Nassim Soleimanpour, an Iranian author who refused to serve in the army and was thus banned from leaving the country. White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is an ingenious parable and performance, which surprises in an unexpected manner the audience as well as the performer.
None of the actors have read the text before finding themselves before the audience. And it is not just the surprise. The absence of the author is symbolically covered by an empty chair that is reserved for him at every performance. His presence, however, is felt throughout the performance.
