Father will you join me?… A dark, poetic performance on a complicated father-son relationship is the most recent work of heretic Belgian auteur Jan Fabre. A visual artist, choreographer, dramatist, director, and set designer, this multifaceted artist has never ceased to provoke with his art since the ’70s. He condenses his means of expression into one performance. Drawing inspiration from performer Cédric Charon, who has been his partner since 2000, he illustrates an imaginary dialogue across two riverbanks. The son transforms into the boatman.
