MICHAEL KLIËN, AUSTRIA
Social Choreography is the field of research of the Austrian artist. His workshops address both the general public and professional dancers and are a proposal for one to reconsider dance, performance and the arts, by placing the experiences of the moving body at the core of potential social change.
Part of the workshop material is Kliën’s two most recent projects, his exhibition titled “Parliament”, presented last April at the Benaki Museum, and the live interactive installation “Jerusalem – Choreography for Greece”, in June 2014, at the Athens and Epidaurus Festivals. The choreographer, who splits his time between Greece and Ireland, has worked with, amongst others, the Frankfurt Ballet and has been visual arts partner to William Forsythe.
