OPEN AIR GROUP EXHIBIT
Have you linked light to daytime? At the 49th Dimitria, light is connected to the night. Lighting projections of visual works bring out hidden aspects of public spaces. With Egnatia Odos as the main axis, on an imaginary line starting from Villa Petridis, passing through Dodekanisou street and continuing towards the old commercial centre of Valaoritou and the present day commercial centre of Aristotelous square and the Roman Market, artists “speak” to the city at night, piercing the nighttime silence and overturning the daytime noise and the feeling of a conventional daily life. Visual art works projected on the “blind” sides of buildings change the nighttime landscape, they direct us towards a different view of the city and invite us on individual tours of Thessaloniki by night. Participating artists include L. Athanasopoulos, A. Georgiou, S. Kalafatis, Kalos & Klio, S. Mitsios, L. Nalmbantidou, F. Tsitsopoulos and others.
