With the general title “Jazz today” a series of concerts was scheduled, in which Greek composers, orchestrators and improvisers, collaborate with counterparts from abroad, and present their work as it takes shape through the group spirit of jazz and the joy of improvisation.
It will all start with the Plus ‘n’ Minus Collective Orchestra (PMCO), which counts top Thessaloniki musicians amongst its ranks, performing avant-garde music, and Gianni Lenoci and Gianni Mimmo from Italy, two internationally renowned musicians, who are the “Reciprocal Uncles” duet, through which they broaden the relationships between rhythm, soundscape, melody and harmony.
After the two concerts the two groups will collaborate, “exploding” the image of present day jazz.
