WAYNE MCGREGOR DANCE GROUP – RANDOM DANCE, ENGLAND
With technology as his spearhead and the human unit as his raw material, British choreographer Wayne McGregor, in his group’s most recent work, explores the interaction of individuals as a requirement for the existence that is defined by presence and absence. Well known for his obsession with the relationship between art and science, body and mind, he adds one more dancer to his group of ten exceptionally skilled dancers, this one with artificial intelligence, a computer. What is human, what is not and what is in between rises from this interaction. He is an especially influential creator who has managed to inspire awe with his performances for 22 years.
