Realistic theater meets documentary, the dilemmas of democracy collide with the mechanism of authority, small societies clash against huge interests; the situations of the 19th century return to the forefront of the 21st century, as if though a single day has not passed.
Director and dramaturg Korina Vasileiadou and actor and dancer Charis Pechlivanidis examine the controversial gold mining project in Skouries Chalkidiki in Northern Greece in an attempt to involve theater and actual political debate by linking one historical situation –that of Ibsen’s– with another and contemporary one –that of contemporary Greece.
