In a world filled with preset downtempo grooves of mild emotional effect, it’s not easy creating cinematic soundscapes that transports audiences to another sphere of musical appreciation.
The case for electronic arrangements combined with rich organic sounds, along with sensual, heartfelt vocals and accompanying visuals is made today in Thessaloniki on behalf of the whole greek scene, with M.A.T.E., aka Meetings Along the Edge being the artists that push the boundaries of the genre.
Heavily influenced by trip hop, dub, dubstep and drum & bass, Meetings Along The Edge echo the emotional drama of early Portishead (mainly through vocalist Maria – Elisavet Kotini) as well as the unpretentious virtuosity of Red Snapper. The band utilizes live electronics, scratches, synthesizers and programming with drums and specially arranged visuals.
Having performed in various venues, they will occupy the stage of Mylos Club with the addition of Aubergene (visuals) and a selection of tunes from their self titled album as well as a number of new compositions.
