A multi-instrumentalist whose vast creative outlet encompasses bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, percussion, violophone, ukulele, vibraphone, melodica, music boxes and Wurlitzer piano, as well as an accomplished composer of renowned discography, widely known through the Your Hand In Mine orchestral duo, Manos Mylonakis embarks on a journey of personal creative expression.
Having already released the original score for the “Zyclon” theatrical play, Mylonakis comes back for more, this time through the “Solfar” LP, quite possibly his most ambitious album to date.
Recorded partly in Iceland, partly in Thessaloniki with an array of musicians, ranging from violin, viola and cello to drums, “Solfar” is a highly promising multinational collaboration that pushes the boundaries of Greek acoustic – electronic music. In the meantime, audiences will be happy enough to enjoy a live performance by Manos Mylonakis in Thessaloniki, during the 50th Dimitria Festival.
