One of the leading symphonic ensembles in Greece, throughout the years the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra has offered a rich repertoire that includes works from the baroque to the avant-garde.
Founded in 1959 having performed abroad in many occasions, and with many important Greek musicians having served as directors, the TSSO has never ceased to promote its goal: offering the best sonic experience in the present whilst moulding the future audience of music – lovers.
Drawing on the rich cultural heritage of the baroque era, TSSO presents a two-day festival with iconic compositions of the movement that include Antonio Vivaldi’s concert for cello and strings, Francesco Geminiani’s Concerto Grosso “La Follia", and C.P.E. Bach’s concert for cello and string orchestra in A major.
