Hot on the heels of the release of his debut LP, due out soon, double – bassist, composer and multi – instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra is a man on a mission to bring double – bass to the forefront of musical creation.
A frequently peripheral medium of composition, the double – bass is Ezra’s basic form of expression. His heroes include Bach, Sting and Chick Corea and his influences have resulted to the incorporation of jazz, latin and Mediterranean elements into his playing. And although the term “multi – instrumentalist” is too often abused when discussing other musicians, in his case it is absolutely true, since he plays violin, guitar, clarinet, oud and cajon with admirable fluency.
Adam Ben Ezra is part of a new breed of musicians using social media and YouTube to promote his work and interact with fans around the world. His videos have drawn millions of viewers and tens of thousands have subscribed to his profile so far.
With 25 shows scheduled around the continent for 2015, as part of his European tour, Adam Ben Ezra is giving a unique workshop which will be followed by a solo performance in Thessaloniki, his sole appearance in Greece this year, one surely not to be missed.
